Job Description:
Rasa Vineyards is a small, family-run winery in Walla Walla, Washington, focusing on premium wines that showcase the best of what Washington vineyards have to offer. From the Rocks District of Milton Freewater, Oregon to Red Mountain we seek and work with some of the most iconic sites for Bordeaux and Rhone varieties in the Pacific Northwest. We are seeking harvest interns who are passionate about learning HANDS ON small production winemaking. This intern will have the opportunity to learn about multiple wine making styles from multiple winemakers across many different varieties in the same facility.

Job Duties:
-Help execute all vinification processes under instruction from the Rasa winemaking team: this includes grape processing and pressing, fermentation/cap management, grape sampling, lab analysis and barrel work.
-Follow safety protocols. This includes crush pad equipment protocols, cleaning and sanitation protocols, and fermentation management protocols.

Job Requirements:
-Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
-Must be able to follow detailed instructions
-Previous fermentation or harvest experience is a bonus but not required (a week-long ‘training camp’ can be arranged in early August if needed)
-Forklift Certification is a bonus(can teach if interested and coachable)
-A passion for quality winemaking, fermentation, or just a good day’s work
-Ability to be on your feet for 12 to 14hrs a day for consecutive days in a row.

Logistics and Pay:
When intern is needed: late August, if possible, to early November (grapes aren’t that specific)
Expected Hours: 40-60 hours a week, depending on growing conditions of this years’ grapes
Wage: $18 to $22 an hour dependent upon experience, with overtime
Housing NOT provided (That being said, Walla Walla is a small place. We may be able to help find lodging if a candidate reaches out ahead of time)
