Job Description:
Carol Shelton Wines is seeking a full time Cellar Technician. CSW specializes in a wide variety of small-lot wines, so a job in our facility will expose you to many wine styles made by one of the top winemakers in California. You will work in all aspects of production, with increasing responsibility as time progresses. You will have a hand in all steps of the winemaking process, working closely with our small skilled staff producing ultra-premium wines. You must have a willingness to ask questions, good attention to detail, be a team player, and have a sense of humor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
– Cleaning, sanitizing and sterilization of all winery equipment and facilities.
– Learning and performing all cellar safety protocols.
– Sorting and processing of grapes.
– Daily Fermentation monitoring.
– Daily punch downs and pump overs.
– Inoculations and additions to wine, must, and juice.
– Pressing, transferring, and racking of grapes, must, and juice
– Preparation of empty and filling of barrels.
– Barrelhouse work including barrel movement, topping and empty barrel management.
– Regular bulk wine and supply inventory.
– Forklifting.
– Help with winery events when necessary.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
– Must be a verbal English speaker with strong communication skills.
– Must be able to read and comprehend work orders, documents, and protocols.
– Must be able to perform all tasks independently in a safe and timely manner.
– Must be dependable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
– Must have the capability to follow directions and fit into the existing team framework.
– Must be able to maintain a positive attitude.
– Must have an attention for detail and quality while working at a fast pace.
– Must be able to work longs hours, work overtime, and work on some weekends.
– Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. and not be afraid to get your hands dirty.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This is a fulltime hourly position. The wage will be determined by experience but is competitive with industry standards. Benefits include medical, vision, dental, 401k, paid vacation, paid holidays, paid sick leave and a monthly wine allotment.
