Cellar 2
Reports To: Cellar Master
Position Overview:
Join our cellar team and contribute to all aspects of our daily harvest operations. As a Cellar 2 Team Member, you will assist in receiving grape deliveries, sanitizing equipment, conducting wine transfers, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the winery. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in forklift operation and cellar activities, with a strong ability to handle physical tasks involving heavy lifting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform cleaning and sanitation procedures with precision and consistency.
Assist in wine transfers under basic guidance.
Execute winemaking tasks according to work orders with minimal supervision.
Accurately complete and maintain detailed work order documentation.
Handle blend lot codes and understand their significance.
Conduct pump-overs and monitor tank measurements.
Sample tanks and barrels for quality control purposes.
Maintain general sanitation standards and work within confined spaces.
Ensure cleanliness and organization of work areas.
Adhere strictly to OSHA Safety standards and company SOPs.
Follow all company policies and procedures diligently.
Participate in stirring, racking, and topping off barrels.
Support coworkers and assist with additional tasks as required.
Perform basic additions to barrels and tanks as instructed.
Perform pre-operational forklift inspections and report any issues to supervisor
Restacking any pallets as needed.
Prepare products and materials for shipment
Load, unload, and stage products and materials
Assist with the loading and unloading of all delivery trucks.
Additional tasks as requested.
Qualifications:
Keep interest in learning the winemaking process.
Minimum 2 years of cellar experience.
Minimum 2 years Forklift certification and experience.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Willingness to work overtime during harvest periods.
Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
Adaptive, self-directed, and highly organized.
Demonstrated enthusiasm for continuous learning and development.
Equipment Competencies:
Proficient in safely operating topping tools, pumps, forklifts, barrel wands, fittings, ladders, harnesses/cables, pressure washers, barrel washers, and crush equipment.
Possession of respiratory certification is preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
Competitive pay range: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour.
