Full time position available at a 5,000 case, LEED gold certified winery on Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes region of NY.  The successful candidate will be responsible for performing routine wine processing and cellar sanitation procedures.  The position will require participation in vineyard, and harvest/crush activities. 

 

 

 

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

 

• Processing and proper maintenance/storage of in-process wines.
• Cleaning and maintenance of tanks and equipment
• Assist with preparation and bottling procedures
• Winery sanitation
• Chemical and raw material inventory maintenance
• Routine sensory and analytical testing of juice and wine, including pH, TA, Free and Total Sulfur, etc.
• Assist with vineyard maintenance and routine cultural practices
• Routine fruit quality and maturation assessment
• Assist with all harvest and crush activities

 

 

 

Prior experience, qualifications and/or skills:

• Prior commercial grape harvest/crush experience is required
• Prior experience with winery equipment operation and maintenance is highly desirable
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills required
