Overview
Monte De Oro Winery is seeking a full-time Marketing & Sales person with a proven track record of product marketing, branding and sales promotion that will help grow and maximize revenue for Temecula Valley’s newest premier winery Monte De Oro Winery.
An ideal candidate would have wine marketing knowledge, wine sales and tasting room experience; be a proven self-starter with a track record of delivering results; creative energy and a sense of humor; excellent communication and people skills; be a strong team player with team leader experience; and be skilled at social media and internet marketing/sales and direct-to-consumer sales and marketing.
A college degree is preferable with 3+ years experience and strong business references.
Primary Duties
Primary duties will include being responsible for basic marketing, planning and development, advertising, sales promotion, market research, customer research and relations and customer service relations. This over time will lead to developing and implementing focused marketing and sales plans, strategies, programs and policies leading to continued increased foot traffic to Monte De Oro Winery and increased sales of the company’s core products. This position requires initiative, vision, and excellent communication skills and relationships with existing company staff (Director of Hospitality, Special Events Sales & Operations, Tasting Room Manager, and Financial Controller), customers, and staff.
Specific Tactical Responsibilities will include:
• Working with winery operations and general manager, develop, organize, direct and execute plans regarding the advertising, sales promotion and publicity of marketing the Company’s products in Monte De Oro’s facility and externally
• Developing and maintaining point of sale and marketing materials. Prepares special sales and promotional literature for various audiences.
• Researching and directing consumer input to identify current and future market opportunities; direct consumer branding programs
• Develop, maintain and consistently communicate a compelling brand position and develop in-market responses to competitive activity and launches.
• Promoting and generating off-premise wine distribution channels, sales campaigns and promotions (restaurants, stores, other venues).
• Developing, coordinating and implementing/administering a public relations program for MDO
• Working with MDO’s Director of Hospitality and General Manager, assist in developing a Calendar of Events including special promotions, concerts, weddings and other private as well as MDO events.
• Develop an effective monthly eNews campaign for Monte De Oro
• Create effective Wine Release campaigns
• Develop effective web-based wine sales promotions that drive wine sales.
• Participating in trade and consumer events (occasional travel to off-site events will be required).
• Able to facilitate private tastings.
Reporting: Position reports to Monte De Oro’s Managing Member/General Manager. Will require collaborative partnering and close working relationships with Monte De Oro’s Director of Hospitality, Events Sales & Operations Manager, and Tasting Room Manager.
Salary: TBD based on skill level with potential performance based bonus opportunity.
